Cant register an account ahead of time outside of japan, can't do it in japan while using a data only esim. Waste of time.
Waste of time , app won't allow me to get a taxi tried multiple times and just get a message after 10 seconda to say no drivers , left waiting in the rain for 40 minutes for a bus instead, poor experience after spending a load of time to setup
Doesn't work at all with a data SIM or an eSIM. You must have a local Japanese SIM with calling, or use an international SIM again with calling because it's the only way to complete SMS verification. They block VoIP numbers like Google Voice too. Such a hassle. Do they actually want customers?
Shitified app already. Before you book a taxi it tells you it takes only a few minutes to pick you up. Once you press the book button, suddenly there's no cars available. Then it tells you "other" people in your area are also waiting and offers you to pay extra for "priority".
Won't let me sign up with US #. I'm here in Japan needing to use it and can't sign up.
I used the app to book a taxi to the airport, however upon arrival the price charged was approximately 30% higher than if I had not used the app. The driver said it was due to the service charge for using the app. Upon checking the app again, when booking the app indicates the estimated "Meter Price" in large bold text, however below in tiny non-bold text it says "+ service fee". Misleading, and an excessive service fee.
Can't use with voip number
Does not work without a japanese phone number. It SAYS it will work, but it absolutely does not. It also doesn't work with a japanese Skype number even if you have sms set up.
It's geolocked. Requires you to be in Japan and receive an SMS to even register . Utter pain and archaic requiring SMS.
The app has some bad glitches. If you request a ride it sometimes tells you can't use it because it can only be used just in japan. Even it uses your location and you are actually in japan. Its super annoying and you have to start the whole ride request again.
