Had Viewranger which was great with lots of good features. Outdooractive took over and made these features premium so that's a massive drawback. Also, maps keep losing gpx overlays when on hike.
I purchased (lifetime access) a full set of OS UK maps back in 2015 when this app was ViewRanger. I needed a permanent set of maps accessible offline for emergencies. Outdooractive stated that I would retain access to my maps. Last week I had no signal and had to use the app for the first time in a while but couldn't access my previously paid for content without a further subscription. Not only do I feel ripped off, for an app people rely on for back country navigation, this is dangerous.
never nag for a rating
Very hard to follow path
Randomly installed itself????? What is this????
Diabolical A friend sent me link to a sailing track in this app for my information and interest. Of course apps like this try to keep you in their "ecosystem". When I I tried to download a simple GPX file of the track I was signed up to a fraudulent subscription service at £49pm or £29.50pm, possibly both. If outdoor active is legit and respectable why do they have to carry fraudulent spammy ads like this? Avoid like the plague. Use a good straightforward mapping app like Locus or Topo Maps.
Currently on free trial. I'm used to Komoot and find this user interface baffling. All I want to do is find routes, store them offline, use them to navigate. 30 minutes in and it's a wonder I haven't thrown my phone out of the window. Unless I have an epiphany in the next few days, it's a no from me.
Does not save plans anymore
Constant issue trying to get watch to sync. Will let you record a track but then won't let you see it. Constant unknown error occurred.
Don't like it.and won't be using it even if it is free for me to have pro version through organisation view ranger was easy to use and had better fetures also nightmare to delete account help centre say click name setting general were find option and guess what it not there
