Google Play current rating says "E for everyone" game; it is not. It was interesting working out clues that were tailored more toward non-US English speakers; and the little incorrect "US" version of words was little more than a nuisance at which to chuckle. But the use of bad language was completely unnecessary. By "Pack 2 level 37" I had no reason not to sit and do some with my nine year old. So the use of bad language as definition of "to complain" was surprising and completely unnecessary.
I would really like this app if it wasn't for the keyboard. The way that letters pop up and the sliding animation from letter to letter if you type fast triggered an instant migraine for me. If the letter pop-ups/animation could be turned off or if I could use my device's default keyboard (Gboard) it would probaby be a 5-star app. But as it is, it is a legitimate health risk for me to use. Extremely disappointing.
Terrible menus for a paid app. After the 8th crossword, it no longer allowed you to go straight to the next puzzle upon completion (whereas puzzles 1-8 had a button on the the completion message taking you straight to the next puzzle.) Instead you have to tap the 'congratulations!' message, back out, and THEN select the next puzzle. I also think the crossword layouts are really lacking in variety, they all look very basic and almost every word only intersects with two or three others. Refund pls
Bad clues and puzzles are too simple. Would not recommend
Game is based on U.K. version of english language, so be prepared for U.K. spellings and meanings. Certain words are used repeatedly in different puzzles (e.g. "opera") for no discernable reason. Oddball words (like "asea" and "abed") pop up here and there. Lots of muslim references for some reason. Overall, just odd and lazily pieced together. *That's your response? Why respond at all? I'm advising the 350 million Americans who will find it odd. 750 puzzles? And only 170K words to use? 😂
Keyboard sucks
They re use hints and words often. The keyboard for this app is god awful. Try pressing the 'Q' button on the first try.
Good if you live in UK or Europe i guess. Honestly, let's you cheat so not worth it either way.
No themes, seems like puzzles are procedural ly generated. Not recommended.
This app is so unbelievably bad.
