Edited review: I've been a user & customer of Gaia maps for 5 years. This recent price change is insultingly absurd. Gaia hasn't changed in years - despite bugs & issues, and now wants $100aud, per year, at the exact same price I pay for Microsoft office suite? There are other apps that do the exact same thing for free. Goodbye.
My bill last year was $42.89. To renew this year will be $59.90. What a ridiculous increase! The app doesn't offer new features except layers that nobody uses. The app is buggy, glitchy. Nothing like it once was. Tracks recording all over the place or stopping on their own. The app used to be great! Blame GAIA for SELLING OUT to Pocket Outdoor Media! Been all downhill from there. Time for a new GPS app. This one's no longer worth the price! 👎 And don't get me started on their privacy policy!!
Doesn't send a password rest or hold your password in it. What's with all these poorly constructed apps for hiking and biking. Same unfinished code in all of them? As if they bought a turnkey app from India.
Steep increases in annual subscription will definitely open doors to try other alternatives.

Is there a way to export my waypoints and tracks? I received an email indicating that the subscription fees are going up from $44.25/year to $74.90/year starting on September 4, 2024. That is highway robbery! What a great thank you for loyal regular customers! I will be cancelling my subscription if that goes up that much or there better be some amazing new features. There isn't even Canadian Crown land/private yet wth! And it still crashes when I use the maps with no cell service.
The price increase by Outside in 2024 is insane. Move to CalTopo. Screw Outside for ruining the TrailForks community by greedy price jumps. Canceled Outside+ subscriptions. No longer recommend my anyone to get the subscription. Was once great, not worth it anymore. Capitalist spiral.

Since the last update the app crashes every couple of minutes which makes it utterly useless for driving off the road in areas without cell service. Along with this you are raising the prices for the premium version. All I want is a stable app I can rely on while exploring parts of the world without cell service. Sadly Gaia lost me here. Focus more on the basic functions of the app before integrating useless features.
