@FL480 @spenderallegra Solar electricity can still be used directly from the roof and in the home, but the battery will charge with the excess – avoiding feeding into the grid and therefore the solar tax charges. Under the Ausgrid scheme, homes with batteries will be paid rather than penalized.

@Bowenchris How does that compare to the big solar scam when @Ausgrid starts to charge people via feed in tax for their solar as we have inadequate storage. We’ll be setting our inverter to stop exports in taxed times. Biggest rort out there perpetuated by state and federal govt. ‘grants’

@xiaowang1984 Control wasn't the priority out of the gate because it necessarily required a replacement of the RMI unit. All greenfields mandate it in the Ausgrid DNSP, and I understand similar requirements exist at other Australian DNSPs. So over time, kiosk + chamber substations will.

Accuracy is sometimes questionable, and also implies an historical link state management. We built this out for MV in the late 2000s at Ausgrid, with a goal to go to the customer premises over time.
