It was officially registered in 1997 by Michael Rodriguez.

@liewcf @chrislema @Pressable Well, that makes sense. I suspect DreamHost, GoDaddy, and the rest don't have trademark agreements based on revenue, though.
@MeetKarissa Iβm in the process of moving all my sites off @DreamHost dreampress over to @Wix because @WordPress is no longer trustworthy π. An orderly migration off the platform now is easier than a forced one later when Wordpress break more things / the sites are down.
