EnergyAustralia (formerly TRUenergy) is a private company in Australia involved in electricity generation and the retailing of electricity and gas. It is one of the "big three" retailers in the National Electricity Market. The company primarily generates electricity through coal-fired power at the Yallourn Power Station in Victoria and the Mount Piper Power Station in New South Wales. Its energy mix consists of 10% wind power, 32% gas, and 58% coal. EnergyAustralia is the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases in Australia, following AGL Energy. In 2023, as a loss-making company, its parent company in Hong Kong, CLP Group, announced plans to seek partners for renewable energy investments, but there were no immediate plans to build new renewable energy facilities itself.
