Video issues and constant upselling. The video feed buffers regularly. I frequently have to force close the app and reopen to get to video feed or to turn camera off. Detection of events is way off. Useless for sleep tracking. A 30 min nap shows "helped to sleep 16 hrs ago". Every tab and every other page on the app is trying to upsell you to get an add-on sub. I've already bought the device for $350+, can nanit just not be greedy? Don't trust the temperature sensor.
After our subscription with nanit ended the video quality has been terrible. Whenever our child moves or makes a sound, the video is glitchy, it will cut out and I will need to close the app multiple times (sometimes over 10 times) and force stop the app and restart before it will reconnect. I remember there being issues when we had the subscription, but I know that it has gotten worse since it has ended. I would encourage anyone not to buy this brand until they fix this bug. It's ridiculous.
We've been using this app for about 9 days and it randomly deletes our activity data. We really wanted a one stop shop to track feedings, diaper changes and sleep schedules, unfortunately this app does not work. We purchased the premium version and I'm beyond annoyed with the performance of the app. If you are going to charge a crazy high price for the camera and then charge another fee to unlock it's features, then make sure your app works properly.
Works part of the time but really with how much it cost you'd expect better
Infuriating. Good hardware hampered by bad software. The button to turn off the light is straight out of hell. It does not work when you need it to work only after who knows what invocation does it toggle the light. Exactly what you want at three in the morning and with a crying baby. Also, why is the sound so quiet. I'd like to hear the baby but not get deaf while watching YouTube. Both of these bugs make me feel like no one has tested the app, once. Or, worse, has tested and considered it good
Video clips and sleep time is now paywalled. It is not acceptable to charge customers so much for the hardware, and then later paywall the software features that the hardware originally had.
Unable to open the app even after clearing cache and storage
We've been using it for 9 months... While the camera stream (usually) works, it sometimes won't load unless I close and reopen the app. I refuse to believe the temperature sensor, as my wife and I have had different values simultaneously on each other's devices, all while our nest is consistently about 4+ degrees lower at all times. The app runs in the background regardless of the camera bring on. I also get notifications about noise when the camera is off.
Why do I need a stupid subscription to use half of the features of a $400 monitor?
Device is a rip-off. You can buy a cheap baby cam from Amazon for the fraction of the price and no subscription with almost identical features of their expensive subscription. The only advantage would be the breathing monitoring which I never used and is recommended AGAINST by major medical and pediatric associations as there is no evidence it works (even though these products have been out for years and these companies have millions of dollars they could easily spend on proving efficacy).
