Ubisoft Divertissements Inc., operating as Ubisoft Montreal, is a Canadian video game developer and a studio of Ubisoft located in Montreal.
Founded in April 1997, the studio was established as part of Ubisoft's expansion into global markets, supported by subsidies from the Montreal, Quebec, and Canadian governments to create new multimedia jobs. Initially, the studio focused on developing low-profile children's games based on existing intellectual properties. Ubisoft Montreal gained prominence with its breakout titles, including 2002's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and 2003's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The studio has since continued to develop sequels and related games in these series, as well as creating its own intellectual properties such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, and For Honor.

@dolfijnmanjohns It's very funny reading this tweet given that AC Valhalla was made by Ubisoft Montreal. You know, the city in Quebec? The french speaking province of Canada that was originally taken over by the British?
