Virgin Australia is an Australian airline that combines the core features of a low-cost carrier with some elements of a full-service airline. It is one of two active airlines using the Virgin brand (the other being Virgin Atlantic) and is the larger of the two by fleet size. Virgin Australia began operations on 31 August 2000 as Virgin Blue, initially flying two aircraft on a single route. The airline quickly became a major player in Australia's domestic market following the collapse of Ansett Australia in September 2001. As of June 2024, Virgin Australia serves 33 Australian destinations with its Boeing 737 MAX and Boeing 737 Next Generation fleets from its hubs in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

@VirginAustralia Not till 9pm which is no good for us considering we have a 7:30 game
@VirginAustralia absoutley fucked us. 7:30am flight Melbourne to Sydney cancelled. 0 seats available on any flight till 9:30pm well after the game. $700 flights one way through Jetstar. $800 through Qantas! So pissed off it’s not even funny
